Rebel Mission #19: Rebel Breakout

I sit in the grass on the Skarid Plains looking out to the city in the distance. My cloak is pulled up over my head as rain pours down on me. Only my eyes are visible through the opening in the light fabric. Beside me sits Rebel, the great Griffin, watching for any movement. Just a few minutes before it had been broad daylight on a sunny day. Now, through the rain and darkness, it's hard to see much of anything but the great stone city ahead. Lightning strikes every few seconds, almost as often as the werewolves howl.

The others will be here soon. Hang on Alant..

Sotare walks up beside Kylonor and Rebel in human form. As usual, he wears no shirt, only a pair of pants. His rain soaked hair hangs down onto his shoulders as he crouches beside the leader.

"So I'm to lead a group?"

Nephanim approached through the tall grass, eying the city of Skarid. He couldn't believe the power of the massive storm hanging over it; he had visited just days ago. The rain poured down ahead in a massive curtain that separated sunlight from misery. As he passed through this wall of falling water, Professor Dumbledore raised his hand to shield his master's eyes.

"Kylonor should be here somewhere.. I doubt we would make it before him." He forced his way against the rain toward the south gate where they were told to meet. En route, he tripped over a figure sitting in the grass and landed face first in front of him. "..The hell did I trip over, some kind of giant squirrel?"

"I suppose you could call me that."

My voice is muffled by the wet cloak around my face. I smile at Nephanim, even though he can't see it. He's quite clumsy, but then again, it's only his first mission. Maybe he's nervous. I look over to Sotare crouching next to me and nod.

"The group at the south gate will be your's. Only distract them, don't try to take on their full might. Lead some away from the town and keep them occupied."

bandon arives while trying to keep the hood of his kape over his head to prevent from getting completly soaked. he sees he's oe of the first to arrive and wonders if he's early or the others just late.
"hi kylon. did any others arive already?"

not to far away sacham is folowing Corni and foxy. he had used them to track the other rebels down in this bad weather. the only problems he had with the rain was that it made it harder to see. the only clothes he ever wore, his pants, were soaking but that was ntohing new. he lived in a forrest afterall. that was why he never even wore a shirt. it would get ripped and dirty in a matter of hours anyway. he looked at his animals while Corni growled something.
"i know it's raining. where do you think i'm walking in? just find the others so we can join them. you two can go and do as you like then."

Elita followed after Nephanim. She laughed as she saw him fall face first in the tall grass. Rain was just beginning to fall and Elita put up her hair, as to not be of any annoyance. She walked tword the now small group. She sat in the driest spot she could find and looked around.

"A storm is coming, were still set correct?" She cracked her neck and looked to the sky. Lighting was prodding the sky, a sort of omen to all the rebels.

Nephanim gathered himself and crouched low with the others. He grinned at the cloaked man whose voice he recognized as Kylonor's. Professor Dumbledore climbed up from the drenched grass and huddled up against Nephanim's side in a futile attempt to dry off his face. The mage turned and looked back at the city to take in the full magnitude of the tyranny reigning over it.

"That storm's not just coming.. It looks like it's pretty much stuck in the sky. Look for yourself." He pointed up at the clouds.

"I guess your right. Seems like a bad one too."

She shook her head to get rid of any drops of rain stuck to her hair and face. She huddled against Nephanim in order to stay dry.

Sotare nods when Kylonor tells him what should be done. Leading the group shouldn't be too hard. This is his chance to prove he can handle a position of command in the Rebels. He wouldn't let them down. Sotare then turns to the elf girl he doesn't know.

"I believe it's being caused by the Hunter Lucius. He is a Bolt Ninja, he can command the lightning."

I turn when I see Bandon approaching. I motion for him to come crouch down with us in our small wet group. This weather could actually be beneficial for my group.

"I'm not sure when the others will get here. We might not be able to wait."
